Water Aid Station A - Under the Morrison Bridge on SW Naito Parkway

This Aid station is located under the Morrison Bridge on SW Naito Parkway, on the South side of the street.  The race passes this station three times at approximately 1.5 miles, 5 miles and 26 miles.  

This assignment falls under the direction of the Portland Marathon Committee Member who manages aid stations. Volunteers are expected to arrive at the assigned location at the designated shift time and complete the assigned duties under the guidance of the on site Aid Station Captain. This job is necessary regardless of weather. Volunteers may have to work in inclement weather and should dress appropriately.

Duties include:

· assist in unloading the supply truck;

· set up aid station per provided instructions;

· provide encouragement, water and aid to Event participants;

· clean up aid station area and reload the supply truck upon its return after all participants have passed the Aid Station.

Qualifications:  Volunteers must:

be at least 13 years old.

be able to get to the assigned location on time and remain for the duration of the shift.

be able to follow verbal instructions.

be able to stand for extended periods of time.

be able to bend over to pick up items off the ground repeatedly.

be flexible and able to change assignment at a moment's notice.

be able to lift 20lbs repeatedly.

Porta-potties are located at every Aid Station. Parking is available on street but off of the Marathon Course. Please consider car pools to reduce congestion and do not park in business parking lots without permission. Note: On Sundays, on street parking is free until 1:00PM.
