Course Signage Team

General Qualifications:

Must be able to qualify to rent a vehicle as to age and other criteria (insurance, etc.)

Must have a valid US issued Driver’s License.

Must be able to use and follow Portland Street Map.

Must be able to follow a Portland Marathon Event Map showing sign locations.

Must be able to use hand tools such as hammer, wire cutters, etc.( No power tool use)

Must be able to work cooperatively as part of a sign crew. 

Physical Qualifications:

Must be able to enter and exit a van numerous times.

Must be able to bend over to pick up signs repeatedly

Must be able to lift at least 20 lbs repeatedly.

Duties: Under the direction of the Course Committee, distribute and erect warning, directional and restriction signs pertaining to the conduct of the Portland Marathon.

Distribute information flyers at locations along the Marathon Course.

Retrieve signs placed along the course after the event has passed the signed location.

This job is necessary regardless of the weather. Individuals may have to work in inclement weather.

Sign distribution - Saturday, October 9th 10:00AM - 2:00PM

Sign retrieval - Sunday October 10th  2:30PM - 6:30PM
