The 37th annual Portland Marathon will be run on Sunday October 5th, 2008 beginning at 7 AM. Traffic will be impacted throughout the day, and in some cases, certain major thoroughfares will be closed from 6:30AM to 3:00PM or later. Times are approximate and may vary by 15 to 30 minutes.
SW Naito Parkway, SW 3rd, SW 4th, NW Raleigh, NW Thurman, NW Wardway, NW St. Helens Road, N Willamette Blvd, N Greeley and N Interstate are all impacted by the race to a significant degree throughout the day and should be avoided. The Steel Bridge is CLOSED to westbound traffic until at least 1:30pm, and the Morrison Bridge is CLOSED to westbound traffic between 6-8:45am. The St. Johns Bridge will have one lane open to traffic in each direction. The Marathon Course route is closed to all unauthorized vehicular and bicycle traffic. There are no exceptions.
SW 4th Ave. from SW Columbia to SW Taylor

SW Main & SW Madison from SW 3rd to SW 5th
SW Salmon from Naito to SW 5th
Bridge Ave. (South side of bridge) from Hwy 30 to the bridge CLOSED to ALL vehicular, bicycle and pedestrian traffic from 7am-1:30pm. One lane each direction on the bridge will remain OPEN to traffic. Bridge access will be from North side Germantown Rd ramp.
W/B lanes CLOSED except for Trimet. 6am-2pm
No E/B access until after 10am
W/B lanes CLOSED 6-8:45am
I-5 S/B City Center exit to Morrison Bridge- CLOSED 6 AM-8:45am
I-405 N/B exit to SW 4th Ave- CLOSED 6AM until at least 10 AM
SW 3rd & 4th: CLOSED from SW Taylor to NW Glisan 6am-10am
SW Naito: CLOSED from SW Barbur to NW Kittridge 6am-11am
S/B lanes remain CLOSED 6am-3pm
NW Raleigh, Thurman and Wardway are CLOSED 6:30-11am
N Willamette Blvd: CLOSED 7:30am-1:30pm
N Greeley: CLOSED 7:30am-2pm
N Interstate: CLOSED from Greeley to the Steel Bridge 7:30-2:30
