Baggage Drop

For security reasons there is no official bag check. The Portland Marathon encourages you to wear clothing at the start as you warm up, that you can leave behind in the starting corrals. We have a team of volunteers who will collect and wash clothing discarded within the first 3.5 miles of the course and then it is all donated to a community charity! Each year nearly 2 tons of clothing go to a local charity which distributes the clothing to those in need.

Local running store, Foot Traffic downtown (SW 3rd & SW Taylor), will offer bag check before the race starting at 5:30a in exchange for a $10 donation (proceeds going to the Going the Distance Foundation). Foot Traffic is offering free bag check with a purchase of $50 or more at any Foot Traffic store (just show your receipt). Bring your own bag and we’ll tag it to reduce waste!
