Tom Eggum, Founding President of Hope 4 Kids International, has over 35 years of experience devoting his life to reaching out to those in the greatest need around the world by bringing necessary care to children with the mission of sharing God's hope through love, joy, dignity, and health. Hope 4 Kids strives to restore the dignity stripped from innocent children who are suffering through extreme poverty and disease. Committed to providing relief to poverty-stricken villages caught up in the global AIDS crisis, H4KI leads teams on exciting two-week missions equipped with essential medical and dental supplies to kids in rural areas, needy hospitals and orphanages. H4KI sponsors 1300 AIDS orphans in Uganda & Kenya, along with other orphans in Peru & Romania. H4KI makes at least a 5-year commitment in the countries they serve enabling the country to become self-sufficient with multiple ongoing, long-term economic, spiritual, orphan and feeding programs.

Their most prominent project is in Eastern Africa. They have dug wells, built churches, clinics and a 66-bed hospital, developed agriculture and established vocational training in an effort to provide self-sufficiency. Hope 4 Kids currently has similar projects on a smaller scale in Peru and Romania. Tom leads teams to these projects to both directly impact the lives of the children they reach out to as well as to change the lives of the team members by developing a passion for each individual to use their life to make a difference in this world.
Tom Eggum, started out sitting in a college classroom reading about the struggles in the Soviet Union who suffered silently behind the Iron Curtain. He took matters into his own hands and began to smuggle suitcases full of Bibles into the Soviet Union until 1981 when he as caught, arrested and blacklisted by the KGB. He had his visa revoked and was forbidden to enter the Soviet Union for five years. Instead of standing on the sidelines, he took six trips into Communist China and Vietnam. He brought medicine, vitamins, antibiotics, clothes and shoes. From these life-altering experiences, he founded Hope 4 Kids International. Currently, Hope 4 Kids has been in over 95 countries bringing hope and necessary care to every child they serve.
